A few notes to self:
1. There's never really anything better after a trudging day of schoolwork than conversations over dinner with friends… and then silence.
2. Take everything one step at a time. If life were meant to be rushed, you wouldn't have been given 24 hours to begin with, because all things considered, 24 hours isn't too bad. You might not finish everything in that span of time, but you can get something - many things - started.
3. Life can get pretty depressing sometimes, deplorable, even. All you have to do is look for things that make living worthwhile.
4. It's okay to be shallow. Life's not all about profound memories or insights that heal our scars, it's about a handwritten note, a paperback, a random balloon, a smile on the street. Life's sometimes about the everydayness of things, and if it's all you have right now, then it should be enough.
5. Putting all things aside, you're actually really fortunate you still breathe. Not everyone does, and sometimes, it's those who don't survive to the next day that deserve the extra 24 hours. Amidst life's tendency to go wrong in all ways imaginable, it always has a shred of hope. Cling on to that.
